Kalamazoo Lighthouse (Replica), Doulgas Michigan.

There was a town in West Michigan known as Singapore and it was a thriving lumber-town that had it's own currency, but once the trees were depleted 'Singapore' not only burned down, it became a ghost town and was eventually engulfed by the sand dunes. I had always referred to this little lighthouse as Singapore Lighthouse until I found the following information which explains (in great detail) about its history.

The Lighthouse has a Tugboat that is moored to its deck, but before the Tugboat was docked, it was stuck in mud/muck in the Kalamazoo (Lake) River. It became both a local attraction for people and, Seagulls. The Seagulls used it as a roost and well, let's just say it became covered in "Seagull Paint." The Dormant Dunes
The dormant dunes. This is in an area north of Oval Beach. Most people do not go to this area because the trails disappear, and there are a lot of bogs. You can easily be knee deep in muck if you don't know where to walk.
