The people that live in Northern Michigan have a saying: "There are gems to be discovered up here, you just have to look for them." It's a true saying and Sturgeon Point (if you're willing to find it) validates the statement. When you first decide to turn off from US23 north of Harrisville and travel down a heavily wooded road, you discover a trout farm on your way to the lighthouse. The road that leads to Sturgeon Point is weathered and bumpy, but once you park your vehicle, outside and begin to walk toward the lighthouse you realize you are in a very special place. The air that begins to fill your lungs is luxurious, the animals that you might wearily greet you (Fox, Deer and Birds) the Sun feels different. The serene power of this remote area sinks in to your soul and begins a renewal.
