The State of Michigan has many unique features that are essentially a complement to the bodies of water that surround it. When you first encounter "The Mighty Mac", there is a certain "Wow!" factor as you approach from the south on I-75. You can see the towers of the bridge before your eyes finally capture the full view of this 5-mile-long suspension bridge. as you drive along the western edge of Mackinaw City.
The immensity of the structure is fascinating as it greets you as it offers you a safe passage over two of the Great Lakes: Lake Michigan and Lake Huron.
